In how many years will SBI Clerk become a PO?






SBI Clerk Exam is most sought exam as it offers a great start for gradates. Being in the clerical cadre for the lifetime pinches therefore after sometime candidate feels to get a promotion to a senior cadre.
One can acquire the senior cadre by giving internal promotion exam after successfully completing 3 years as SBI CLERK. The exam is a written exam followed by an interview. It can be cleared by doing self study or by joining any SBI CLERK coaching in Alwar. Joining a professional institute will benefit candidates in many ways as they will get free test series, doubt sessions, etc., which a must for an effective is coaching. 
Let us discuss how the promotions take place from SBI Clerk to officer level.


1. Automated promotions of SBI CLERK is as follows:
·         A person who is working in the clerical cadre     and  completed ten years of service will be promoted to the post of  Senior Assistant.  There will be an increment in the form of a special allowance of Rs.1800/-.
·         A person who works for twenty years will be promoted to the post of Special Assistant. This post will give them a special allowance of      Rs.2500/- which will be ranked for DA & HRA
·         A person who has completed thirty years in clerical cadre will be promoted to the post of      Senior Special Assistant. This post will give a special allowance of      Rs.3500/- which will be ranked for DA & HRA.

2. Promotion of SBI clerk to officer cadre
·         As a Trainee officer
  

·         Candidates working after three years  for SBI  clerk can   become trainee officer after qualifying written test and interview. They are placed under probation for a period of two years. A successful completion of probation, the      trainee officer will be promoted to MMGS-II      cadre or sent back to clerical cadre in case his or her performance is not up to the mark.

·         Directly Promoted as JMGS-I

·         Candidate can be directly promoted to JMGS – I only after six years of service under fast track promotion channel or after twelve years of service under normal promotion channel. Fast track will allow him or her to appear in a written test followed by interview subject to age limit.
